Academic Framework
A structured approach to professional education, aligned with international accreditation standards and competency-based assessment methodology.
Our Academic Approach
UKPSA University operates within a comprehensive academic framework that integrates international accreditation standards, structured learning outcomes, and rigorous quality assurance processes. This framework ensures that every programme and qualification meets the highest standards of professional education.
Our approach is grounded in the principle that professional competence can be developed and assessed through multiple pathways, whether through structured programme delivery, recognition of prior learning, or a combination of both.
Framework Pillars
Accreditation Compliance
All programmes are designed, delivered, and assessed in accordance with IACC accreditation criteria. This includes curriculum design standards, faculty qualifications, assessment integrity, and continuous improvement requirements.
Competency-Based Outcomes
Each qualification defines specific competency outcomes that graduates must demonstrate. Assessment is mapped directly to these outcomes, ensuring that certification reflects genuine professional capability.
Quality Assurance
An institutional quality assurance cycle ensures regular review of curricula, assessment methods, student outcomes, and faculty development. External benchmarking against IACC standards provides independent validation.
Academic Governance
The Academic Board provides oversight of all academic matters including programme approval, assessment policy, academic standards, and institutional strategy. Board decisions are guided by evidence and aligned with accreditation commitments.
Qualification Levels
Specialised Technician
Two-year programmes developing foundational professional competencies in a specific field. Graduates demonstrate applied technical knowledge and practical skills relevant to their discipline.
Professional Bachelor
Three-year programmes building comprehensive professional expertise. Graduates demonstrate the ability to analyse complex problems, apply theoretical knowledge, and manage professional responsibilities independently.
Master
Two-year advanced programmes developing strategic and leadership capabilities. Graduates demonstrate expertise in research methodology, critical analysis, strategic decision-making, and the ability to contribute to professional knowledge.
Framework Questions
Learning outcomes are defined through a structured process involving industry consultation, academic review, and alignment with IACC competency frameworks. Each outcome specifies what a graduate must know, understand, and be able to do.
Programme quality is maintained through an annual review cycle that examines student achievement data, stakeholder feedback, external examiner reports, and alignment with current industry requirements.
The Academic Board is the highest academic authority within UKPSA. It approves new programmes, reviews assessment policies, oversees academic standards, and ensures compliance with accreditation requirements.
